We ROCKED out to the 80's today as we celebrated our 80th day of kindergarten! We sorted real vs nonsense CVC words on cassette tapes (after learning what cassette tapes were), added numbers to equal the sums in 867-5309 (yes we listened to the song the whole time), and used our five senses to complete a graphic organizer on the candy Pop Rocks. Today was RAD!

We teamed up with the 5th graders to build gingerbread houses. We had so much fun collaborating with the older kids!
After comparing and contrasting multiple versions of the Gingerbread Man, we baked gingerbread cookies. However, our cooks at school peeked in the oven to see if they were done and the gingerbread men ran out. After a hunt around our school, we found them in our classroom! We enjoyed hot cocoa as we decorated and ate these delicious treats!
Yes, this really happened! What better way to practice reading and writing our CVC words than with a snowball fight?! (Complete with hats and mittens or course!) We had a BLAST with this activity!
We celebrated being thankful by having a Thanksgiving Feast. We read the stroy, Stone Soup. Then we each brought items in to add to our very own stone soup. We made butter and enjoyed that with our feast as well! |
